Portrait Photographer, New England
Portrait work rooted in place
and atmosphere. New England.
A portrait series set inside the soul of southern New Hampshire: cigar lounges, laundromats, dive bars. Real people, real places.
Portraits made in the quiet after closing time. Bars, restaurants, and spaces stripped of their crowd. Just light, architecture, and a subject.
A long-form project exploring available light and shadow. Minimal gear, maximum atmosphere. Shot entirely on location.
I'm Blake Carter, a portrait photographer based in New England. I'm drawn to spaces with history and light with character: the kind you find in a worn-in bar, a quiet laundromat at closing time, or a back room that smells like cedar and tobacco.
My work is about people in places. I try to make images that feel like they belong to the location, not imposed on it. I shoot on location, I work after hours, and I take my time.
I'm currently focused on a long-running portrait series set across New England, using local businesses as both backdrop and subject.
Get in TouchI'm always looking for interesting people to photograph. You don't need modeling experience. I'm more interested in presence and willingness than polish.
Current projects are set in local New England businesses, including cigar shops, bars, laundromats, and restaurants. If that sounds like your kind of scene, I'd love to hear from you.
All selected models receive a gallery of edited images for personal use.
